Promotion Ceremony
Oct. 30, 2025: President Rebecca Greene and Secretary-Treasurer Katrina Johnson-Aiken congratulate five Local 1181 members who were promoted during Promotion Ceremony at 1 Police Plaza. Kolade E. Amusan was promoted to Administrative Traffic Enforcement Agent (Non Managerial). TEA IIs Bashir Ahmed Chowdhury, Mohammad Z. Rahman, Yunus A. Hudda, and Abu-Norman M. Mainuddin were all promoted to Associate Traffic Enforcement Agents (ATEA) Level I. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz stopped by to offer her congratulations and speak with Greene and Johnson-Aiken.



2025 NYC Labor Day Parade
Sept. 6, 2025: Members of CWA Local 1181 proudly marched in the 2025 NYC Central Labor Council Labor Day Parade, joining District 1 and fellow CWA locals to celebrate solidarity, strength, and the collective power of working people.




2025 CWA National Convention
Aug. 10-12, 2025: President Rebecca Greene, Vice President Sarah Muhammad, and Secretary-Treasurer Katrina Johnson-Aiken proudly represented Local 1181 at the CWA National 80th Convention. As a member of the Credentialing Committee, President Greene helped register more than 1,000 delegates upon arrival. The three officers also joined the CWA District 1 regional meeting, where they connected with District 1 Vice President Dennis Trainor and the Local 1180 delegation. President Greene had the opportunity to meet with CWA National President Claude Cummings during the convention, underscoring Local 1181’s continued commitment to strengthening CWA for members and their families eight decades after its founding.







2025 Equal Pay Day Rally
March 24, 2025: Local 1181 President Rebecca Greene attended an annual Equal Pay Day Rally at City Hall that is sponsored by sister CWA union Local 1180 and PowHer NY. Equal Pay Day calls attention to the salary inequities that exist for women in the labor market and symbolizes how far into the current year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year. It also calls attention to systemic issues holding back women from succeeding at the same pace as their male counterparts.







IFTAR Dinner
On March 19, 2025 Local 1181 President Rebecca Greene was honored at the IFTAR Dinner ceremony organized by the New York Police Department, Traffic Enforcement District (TED). She, along with several others, were recognized for outstanding support to TED.
